Analytics Ventures forms Tinoro with entrepreneur Harel Hakakha to create the fastest and most portable virus and bacteria detection technology. Offering a large set of applications in areas, such as food safety, travel destinations or public settings, Tinoro demonstrates a clear path to reduce the dangers associated with the spread of a disease.
This venture is a great example of our fund’s approach to allocating half of our capital into the formation of brand new businesses. Tinoro will benefit from our proven operational framework, resource network and investments. In return, our investors now have founding equity in addition to typical investment based ownership.

Our business intelligence platform, Apmetrix was selected by HTC to join their Vive X Accelerator program (www.vivex.co) and to receive acceleration capital. The investment validates Apmetrix’ innovation in the virtual reality (VR) sector as it has been expanding its product suite to be first to market with engagement and use intelligence metrics.

San Diego Magazine recently covered our portfolio company Curemetrix and its software as it detects as many as a million or more abnormalities in one mammogram.
To test the software, CureMetrix collected almost 500,000 anonymous images and biopsy results from hospitals. For positive biopsies, they looked at the corresponding mammograms in the years prior. The software was able to spot early breast cancer up to four years before it even became suspicious enough to the radiologist to order a biopsy. Read more
